MANNIKIN STUDIOS, The Old Squaw, Puss in Boots, and the Ogre

Mannikin Studios has just released two new model sets for their range of Arthur Rackham characters.  From the announcement on their website:

The Old Squaw is based on artwork from Rackham’s illustrated edition of Rip Van Winkle, and is our third release for this series. It is a four-part resin model and measures 31mm to the highest point. The Old Squaw comes with a 30mm round base, a cauldron, and one familiar.

Puss in Boots and the Ogre are based on Rackham’s illustration of the two characters in Charles Perrault’s tale “Puss in Boots” (Le Maître Chat, ou Le Chat Botté). Puss is a single part model measuring 13mm to the tip of his nose, and matches the size and build of our Grimm’s Cat. The Ogre is a three-part model and measures 41mm to the top of his head. Both models are cast in resin and come with a 30mm base.

The Old Squaw, Puss in Boots, and the Ogre were sculpted by Jody SIEGEL of Imbrian Arts and cast in resin of the highest quality. These models are comprised of small, delicate parts, and as such are intended for advanced modelers.

Both sets are available now from our store for just $16.50 USD each + $3.00 worldwide shipping.

There is a limited number of casts currently available for this release, but we may produce more based on demand.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Bylot Painted by Anakron

Mannikin Studios has recently posted a painted version of Bylot, one of their first models, by Anakron.  From the announcement on their website:

David AYRAL (Anakron) of Anakron Miniatures Studio recently submitted these pictures of his stunning version of Bylot (glennling 1). We’re quite impressed by Anakron’s incredible display of skill, and humbled that he was inspired enough by the piece to bring it to life. Thank you, Anakron.

Bylot is one of the ghosts from Henry Hudson’s ill-fated crew that haunt the Catskill Mountains in Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle, and is included in our range of characters based on Arthur Rackham’s illustrations for the work. Bylot was sculpted by Anakron.

Visit Anakron’s gallery on Cool Mini or Not to cast your vote for his rendition of this model, and stop by Mannikin Studios to check out their growing catalog of miniatures.

ANAKRON MINIATURES STUDIO, Le Guide

Anakron Miniatures Studio just released a preview of their next signature model, Le Guide.  The sculpt measures 30mm to the eyes.  No word on when it will be available other than “soon.”  They’ll also be releasing two or three scenic basing elements as well.

I’m snatching up this model as soon as it’s available.  I’m not sure if this will be limited like past releases (I’ll ask), but traditionally AMS models have been limited to just 30 castings.  I’ll have an update on this as soon as I hear back from Mr. A.  In the meantime, enjoy the preview.

P.S.  Want to see more of Anakron’s work?  Be sure to check out Mannikin Studios and GCT Studios to add more of his fantastic sculpts to your collection.

NORSGARD, Oracle of Storms

Norsgard has just released a new model for their forthcoming game, Oracle of Storms (9.00 €).  The Oracle was sculpted by industry veteran Nicolas N’Guyen based on artwork by Nico Kopf.

Norsgard is made by the same people who published Sapphire Wars about a year or so ago.  I’m not sure what happened to the latter, but according to their Facebook page they’re still planning to release models and a game.  Between the handful of models produced for Sapphire Wars and the two made for Norsgard so far, I think the Oracle of Storms is by far their strongest concept, but then I’ve a bias for the artist’s work.

If you’ve never heard of Nico, you will.  He’s an up-and-comer in this industry with a promising future ahead of him.  To date Nico has done concept work for Norsgard, Anakron Miniatures Studio (Cartomancer, forthcoming), and Mannikin Studios (ogre mercenary, currently being sculpted), but expect this list to start growing soon.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Twa Corbies

Mannikin Studios released their first model for 2012 earlier this year, Twa Corbies.  From their website:

Twa Corbies is based on artwork from Arthur Rackham’s Illustrated edition of Some British Ballads, and is the third of twelve models planned for our fae tree series.  It is a three-part resin model (optional third branch not shown), measures 48mm tall, and comes with a 30mm round base.

Twa Corbies was sculpted by Jody SIEGEL of Imbrian Arts and cast in resin of the highest quality.  The model is comprised of small, delicate parts, and as such is intended for advanced modelers.

Twa Corbies is available now from our online store for just $12.50 USD + $3.00 worldwide shipping.

This is a fiddly model, to say the least, which will make it challenging kit for even the most advanced modelers.  That being said, it’s an incredible sculpt, and would look fantastic as part of a plinth diorama or a centerpiece on its own.

Earlier this year Mannikin Studios also previewed sculpts of one of their forthcoming models, Puss in Boots and the Ogre (RFB001 and RFB002), which should be available sometime in the next few months.  More photos of Puss and the Ogre are available on the Mannikin Studios website.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Holiday Special

Mannikin Studios is having a special on shipping rates through the end of 2011.  From their website:

In the spirit of the holiday season, Mannikin Studios is offering free worldwide shipping to anyone who places an order from their website any time between now and the end of 2011.  There are no minimum requirements to take advantage of this offer.

This is a great opportunity to pick up one of the finest interpretations of Father Christmas in miniature, among other wonderful characters based on the artwork of Arthur Rackham.  Once our current supply is gone, they will likely never be available again in this medium.

Visit the Mannikin Studios website for more information and to view our complete catalog.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Grimm’s Owl

Mannikin Studios has just release Grimm’s Owl for their range of models titled Arthur Rackham’s World.  From their website:

Grimm’s Owl is based on artwork from Arthur Rackham’s illustrated edition of The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm, and is the second of twelve models planned for our series of fae trees.  The model is comprised of four parts (main tree and three branches), measures 55mm to the top of the tree, and comes with one round 30mm base.

Grimm’s Owl was sculpted by Jody SIEGEL of Imbrian Arts, and cast in resin of the highest quality.  The model is comprised of small, delicate parts, and as such is intended for advanced modelers.

Grimm’s Owl is just $12.50 USD + $4.95 shipping worldwide.

There is a limited number of casts currently available for this release, but we may produce more based on demand.

In the coming weeks we’ll be featuring this model against our ruled background, so you can see the model in the raw (what it looks like straight out of the box) and get a much better understanding of its dimensions.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Grimm’s Owl preview

Mannikin Studios recently posted  a preview of the next model in their fae tree series.  This release is their second fae tree based on Arthur Rackham’s artwork for The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm.

IMBRIAN ARTS, ghoul 2

Jody Siegel of Imbrian Arts recently previewed his sculpt for the second of four planned ghouls for his range of characters for the Damned.  This model will be available as part of a set later this year.

For those of you who don’t know, Jody sculpted the recently released Grimm’s Cat and another soon-to-be-released model from Mannikin Studios.

MANNIKIN STUDIOS, Grimm’s Cat and Father Christmas

Mannikin Studios has just released two new models for their range of miniatures based on the artwork of Arthur Rackham, Grimm’s Cat and Father Christmas.  From their website:

We’re delighted to announce that Grimm’s Cat and Father Christmas are now available to order. Father Christmas was originally intended to be released one month after Grimm’s Cat, but since the latter is late we’ve decided to make them available together.

Grimm’s Cat is based on artwork from Arthur Rackham’s illustrated edition of The Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm, and is the first of twelve models planned for our series of fae trees. The model is comprised of two parts, measures 32mm to the top of the cat’s head, and includes one round 40mm base. Grimm’s Cat was sculpted by Jody SIEGEL of Imbrian Arts.

Father Christmas is Rackham’s classic rendition of the holiday character, which originally appeared in Arthur Rackham’s Book of Pictures. The model is comprised of two parts, comes with two options for his sack (elves or presents), measures 35mm to the highest point, and includes one round 30mm base. Father Christmas was sculpted by David AYRAL of Anakron Miniatures Studio.

Both models were cast in an ultra fine resin of French vintage, are comprised of small delicate parts, are intended for advanced modelers, and require some modeling and assembly. They are priced at just $12.50 USD + $4.95 shipping worldwide.

There are only 40 casts of each model available for this release, but we’ll produce more based on demand.
