In the desert of Syharhalna rise the dark Ziggurats of the Alchemists of Dirz. Here is the realm of the felon that renounced Merin, of the heretic that ridiculed the divine commandments and who, in his incredible arrogance, claimed to have become an equal to the gods. Fleeing the holy Inquisition, he and his faithful found refuge in this hostile place, where all forms of life seemed impossible. But the life that was created here proved itself even more hostile.

The neuromancer´s irritation grew as the water soaked through his robes. For three day now, he and his troop had been tracking down the creature in the sewers of the Free city. Two of his Centurius had already been destroyed and the Dasyatis had suffered some serious damage during the last attack. Since the loss of the five Keratis, the trackers had become the prey. The aberration prime had revealed a particularly cunning hunter; combined to the power of its muscles gorged with mutagenics, this creature was definitely close to perfection…

The dignitaries of the Scorpion have good reasons to surround themselves with Centurus clones to ensure their protection. The stats of these elite fighters are indeed enough to dissuade the bravest of assailants. Their disquieting presence is caused by the psychic signature that the neuromancers imprint them with during their conception. Centuruses and neuromancers thus form teams to combine their powers to better vanquish the Scorpion’s enemies.

Vargas Metatron reviewed his new troops. A regiment of clones fresh from the tanks was standing to attention before him. The warriors had passed all the physical and mental tests and then went through basic training. Would this be enough to confront the wrath of Merin’s hounds?
Vargas moved among the ranks. The copper-colour of his skin contrasted with the ivory-colour of that of these fighters. “They will burn,” he thought, “but they will become used to it.”
Suddenly he began shouting. “Welcome to a world without mercy, warriors. Each one of you will get his regulation equipment. Then you will undergo more training. Tomorrow we will go and fight against the orcs. Show yourselves worthy of Dirz, our creator!”

When fleeing the Empire of Akkylannie, the Alchemists of Dirz took some of the Griffin’s best-kept secrets with them. Among these were the production methods of Akkylannian armour. Over centuries this armour was modified and improved. It now equips the Dawn Warriors, the dark heirs of the fighting saints of the Griffin. The Dawn Warriors make up a reliable army corps for the Empire of Dirz. Their stronghold, Danakil, guards the entrance to the Desert of Syharhalna…
